Transient electromagnetic method inversion based on Levy flight-particle swarm optimization

AbstractFor the problem that the step in particle swarm optimization (PSO) is usually short, Levy flight search strategy is introduced into PSO in this paper. With the characteristics of a short search step and an occasional long step walk, Levy flight can increase a long-step random walk ability without reducing the convergence of particle swarm algorithms, and let a particle swarm algorithm easily find a global optimal solution. This property of Levy flight greatly improves the probability that particles fly out of local optimal solutions. At the end of this paper, we apply Levy flight-PSO to the inversion of actual data, and the results show that Levy flight-PSO is suitable for the one-dimensional interpretation of transient electromagnetic data.
